Ingleside Station S.I.T.
Station Investigations Team
Ingleside Station was built in 1910 and has seen its share of crime not only in the district, but also at the station. Ingleside Station was opened for business in 1911 and has continued to serve the residents of the Ingleside District since. Park Station is the only other station from that time period that is still in service today.
Ingleside Station remains one of the citys oldest Police structures still in use today. Ingleside was renovated in 1991. The renovations took place while the officers at the station continued to provide service to its residents while working and using the Community room as its main office.
Since November of 2009 Inspectors (Police Investigators /Detectives) have been assigned to the stations when the Investigation Bureau was decentralized from 850 Bryant St. The concept was that the cases were assigned faster, thus yielding higher solve ratio. This has proved to be the case. They are now referred to as the S.I.T Team (Station Investigation Team).
Ingleside Station also has a program "Ambassador" that provide the S.I.T with additional assistance. Victims receive a call and are given the name of the Officer in charge of handling their case and the opportunity to provide additional information on their case if they have any. The call is also about finding out how the victim is doing and how our officers preformed their jobs.
We will continue to find new and better ways to provide the best service possible to our district community and the City of San Francisco.
